Loyalty - The Key to Healthy Relationships

 

Characteristics of Loyalty

 

 1. To remain faithful, committed, and submitted through the bad times as well as the

     good.

 

 2. To stay on board and at work when others are jumping ship.

 

 3. To prefer others and desire their success greater than your own.

 

 4. To rejoice in the other person's success even more than you rejoice in your own.

 

 5. To be able to follow, even when you see your leader's humanity (weakness),   

      Knowing that  God is not after perfection but He is after completion.

 

 6. To stay at peace and remain trusting even when you don't have all the information.   

     Refusing to let your mind (and others) rush to speculations and judgments.

 

 7. To honor your leaders and trust God in them even when you don't understand the    

     decisions they make, knowing they have more information than you and more than    

     they are free to give.

 

 8. To be jealous for the success of those over and under you and to work hard to

     ensure their success.

 

 9. To always put the honor where it belongs, never taking (robbing) credit that does not

     truly or completely belong to you.

 

10. To not allow thoughts of rebellion, or suspicion to have room in your heart or mind.

 

11. To refuse to listen to gossip or slander and, in fact, loyalty makes you stop gossip or

      slander in its tracks.

 

12. Loyalty means taking your questions to someone who is part of the answer and

      never to those who just enlarge the questions — anything other than this is actually   

      gossip and slander.

 

13. Loyalty always believes and hopes for the best in any situation, investigating

      problems with care, prudence, and love.

 

14. Loyalty refuses to allow secret thoughts or agendas to remain in the heart. Loyalty

      refuses to use what one is a part of as a stepping stone or a springboard into the

      next greater position.

 

15. Loyalty refuses to think or talk negatively and destructively about those around you.

 

16. Loyalty requires that questions be asked of the right people ,at the right time, in the

      right spirit.

 

17. Loyalty says, "What I am a part of is more important than the part I play."

 

18. Loyalty forgives and restores those written on our hearts.

 

19. Loyalty means to trust. This goes both ways - trusting those over and under you!

 

20. Loyalty is the ability to serve another's vision to the point that we adopt it as our

      own.

 

21. Loyalty means that we have our leaders best interest in our hearts and minds and

      that we know and represent their heart.

 

                        * Do what they would do if they were present.

 

                        * Do it the way they would do it.

 

                        * Do it with the heart they would have.

 

22. Loyalty will admit when it is wrong and will take steps to correct the wrong.

 

23. Loyalty means being dependable, consistent, and faithful. Loyalty follows thru on

      commitments.  A loyal person can be counted on.

 

24. Loyalty means keeping your word, keeping your priorities, and completing your

      assignments.

 

25. Loyalty means having the best interest of our people in our heart and never

      violating their trust or commitment.
