Course Objective:

To understand leadership skills and be immediately able to apply them at work, home, school and in ministry.

 

Course Description:

This course will focus on practical leadership tools that will help each student to be a leader in the marketplace, church and in the family.

Grading Policy:

                    (3) Applications Paper                                              40%

                    (1) Character Sketch Paper                                       30%

                    Participation and knowledge of readings               10%

                    Final Exam                                                                   20%

 

(3) Applications Paper

Three, single-page, single spaced papers are due discussing topics on the following three subjects:

  1. Are Leaders created by God or made by hard work?
  2. Integrity; What is it?
  3. What does a follower want in a leader?

 

Character Sketch Paper and Presentation:

A five-page double spaced, typed paper must be completed on the leadership characteristics of one biblical character of your choosing. (Moses, Paul, etc.) The paper must include the following

  1)          A cover page with the name of the biblical character and your name

  2)          A ½ page opening paragraph explaining the purpose of the paper.

  3)          Approximately 4 full pages analyzing the life of a biblical character and applying all the principles learned in class to the study of the character. Include the following if possible.

a.        Personality profile of leader

b.       Type of leadership (pastoral, Servant, etc)

c.        Contrast with worldly leader

a.        Solomon and Gandhi

b.       Sampson and Clinton

c.        Charts, Maps, Graphs are all acceptable additions to this paper and acceptable for the final presentation.

  4)          A ½ page summary finalizing your team’s thoughts.

  5)          A bibliography with at least three sources besides the textbook.
